The John Carr Series consists of three 5k races held on Wednesdays during May (4th, 11th and 18th in 2016) in memory of a former member of the club who tragically died aged 30.
Prizes for first man, first woman, first male veteran, first female veteran, first male junior and first female junior at each race plus prizes in all age categories for the series. Total time taken to complete all three races to decide prizes.
For 2016 we will have a new course.
Please collect your race numbers and chip from the tent on the grass verge alongside the road into the Yorkshire Water estate, close to the start/finish
The course is fairly flat and fast and will be wholly in the grounds of the Yorkshire Water Esholt estate, starting at 7.30pm.
The 2016 course will start from the Apperley Bridge end of the Yorkshire Water Esholt estate and will be an out and back course towards the Esholt village and returning to finish back at the Apperley Bridge end. There is limited parking, with street parking on Harrogate Road, Apperley Lane and Apperley Road and a small car-park at Rawdon Meadows. There is no parking within the Yorkshire Water estate.
The new Apperley Bridge train station (with parking for 300 cars) is very close to the start with trains running from Leeds (arrive 18:47) and Shipley/Bingley/Keighley (arrive 18:42).
